The Movers and Shakers
Founded in 2003 by a group of passionate volunteers determined to improve the quality of Mecklenburg County’s air, Clean Air Carolina now champions a statewide initiative to raise North Carolina’s air quality to exceed that of scientific recommendations.
Their mission is to ensure cleaner air quality for all North Carolinians through education and advocacy and by working with their partners to reduce sources of pollution.
Clean Air Carolina came to Unity seeking a new story-driven design for their website. We facilitated a unifying design workshop where we worked together as a team to create user personas. After analyzing the products of the workshop, their Google Analytics data, and several conversations with the team, we produced a streamlined information architecture and roadmap for the project. Unity designed and developed their new website in WordPress and worked with them to help tell the story of NC’s air quality and Clean Air Carolina in a visual and immersive way.
The new website is visually stunning, rich with storytelling, and has clear calls for action. An effective nonprofit website doesn’t have to bust the budget; it must be uncomplicated, simple to navigate, and easy on the eyes. You want visitors to quickly figure out your mission, impact, and to find the resources that they’re looking for as simply as possible.

And the Award Goes To….
We didn’t get into this business for the accolades, however when you receive them it feels pretty good. We are excited to share that out of more than 5,000 submissions from 24 countries, Unity Digital Agency was named a Silver winner in the 2017 Summit Creative Awards for our website redesign for Clear Air Carolina.

The Summit Creative Award (SCA) recognizes and celebrates the creative achievements of small and medium sized advertising agencies worldwide with annual billings under $30 million. Celebrating its 23rd year, the SCA has firmly established itself as the premier arbiter of creative excellence for firms of this size and has become a coveted honor.
