Alisa Herr, Founder & CEO
Alisa is a thinker, maker, and doer with a knack for creative problem solving. Born in the lost generation between Gen Xers and Millennials, she is passionate about using technology to bring people together and make the world a better place. A true multidisciplinarian, Alisa loves flexing her skills in strategy, data analysis, writing, empathy, design, and development. She has spent the last 20 years teaching herself and others a variety of programming languages and knitting techniques. Alisa was previously the lead web developer at an award-winning design firm, and the chief technology officer of a nonprofit where she designed and built an industry-leading publication platform that drives its success.
She found her calling to lift up those who use their talents as a force for good and established Unity Digital Agency in 2016 to connect mission-driven technologists, designers, and strategists to the organizations who need them the most. A North Carolinian to the bone, Alisa was born and raised in the Triangle, has a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Appalachian State University, a master’s degree in library and information science from UNC Chapel Hill, and ardently defends her preference for Lexington style bbq. She is a mom, wife, public speaker, open source evangelist, and judge for the SXSW Interactive Innovation Awards.
Lorrinda Michieka, Digital Evangelist
Lorrinda is a passionate, seasoned business technologist with over 18 years of experience as a web developer, project manager, and business analyst. Her strongest expertise is in digital marketing and the practical application of digital solutions to marketing, workflow, and productivity challenges. She is an entrepreneurial problem solver with a focus on the unique sustainability challenges of non-profits, projects, startups and microbusiness owners with fixed or small budgets.
Lorrinda has an undergraduate degree in information technology and a master’s degree in global technology management from the American Intercontinental University. She is a certified project management professional and was the lead programmer analyst for a multi-national fortune 500 company, where she managed the largest higher education technology project in the country. She founded Move My Mountain Corp in 2006 as web development and graphic design company. Today, Lorrinda focuses on training events and marketing consulting and is known for being a trusted marketing and web adviser.
Rebecca Hankins, Marketing Specialist
Rebecca is a dedicated change agent for her community. For more than 15 years, she has poured herself into various nonprofits from New Jersey to North Carolina. She has honed her skills as a fundraiser, communication specialist, project manager, and invaluable jane of all trades. Rebecca is most excited about building long-term partnerships that embrace creativity, collaboration, community, and technology. Through effective storytelling, she believes minds can be changed, hearts can be opened, and new audiences reached.
Rebecca received her undergraduate degree from the College of the Holy Cross in Massachusetts and her master’s degree in Museum Studies and Nonprofit Administration from Seton Hall University. She has been a Durham resident for over 10 years and loves the Bull City’s vibrancy and determination. She shares her home with her husband Scott, son Colton, and two rescue dogs Belle and Guinness.
